After his initial experimentation with spiritualism,
as described in the Books "Gone West" and "A Subaltern in Spirit Land" Ward began investigating more deeply the Ancient Wisdom
in Freemasonry. He had first been admitted to this ancient oranisation when he was still at Cambridge and only 20 years of
age - in fact he had to obtain special permision to do so before his 21st birthday.
